CBC Grade 9 Notes in Kenya-What are Particles present in an atom ?
Which subatomic particles are found in the nucleus of an atom?
The Nucleus of an Atom Contains Protons and Neutrons. Atoms are very small.
The nucleus of an atom is even away smaller. This Means that the Electrons are located some distance away from the nucleus.
The lightest known element is hydrogen. The hydrogen atom contains one Proton and one Element and has no neutron.
Atoms are composed of three primary subatomic particles: protons, neutrons, and electrons. Protons (positively charged) and neutrons (no charge) are packed together in the dense central nucleus, while electrons (negatively charged) orbit the nucleus in shells.
